Since its inception in 2019, Base Law’s business model, which is unique to the legal industry, has grown from Suzie Sneddon’s vision of helping lawyers practice differently into a thriving team of Base Lawyers, Legal Executives, and support staff throughout the Auckland and Waikato regions.

Having started her legal career as a commercial solicitor with Simpson Grierson in 2003, owned and managed a corporate health and fitness facility, and worked in both recruitment and legal technology industries, Suzie has a broad background of experience and skills to offer both her clients and other Base Lawyers.

Through the significant growth that Suzie has achieved, Base Law has now reached the point where she has chosen to evolve the leadership structure. This supports the ultimate vision: having Base Lawyers servicing their local communities across New Zealand, in a way that works for the individual lawyer, while delivering excellent legal advice for the communities they serve.

  • Suzie Sneddon continues as Founding Director, ensuring the values that built Base Law remain at the heart of everything we do.
  • Kate von Biel has stepped into the role of Managing Director, bringing her calm, practical leadership to guide both our clients and our team.
  • Anelize Usher joins Base Law as General Manager. With her strong background in business growth and focus on marketing and technology, she brings fresh energy to how Base Law connects with clients and supports its team.

Together, they are committed to supporting the Base lawyers and staff to continue the high level of client care that has defined Base Law from the start.
