
Sian Atkinson

Sian is born and bred in the Waikato. The name Sian name comes from her Welsh heritage which is pronounced “Sharn” but she is also of Ngai Tahu and Ngāti Rangi descent where her mum’s whānau connect to both the South Island and the Ruapehu District.
Sian has been in the legal field for over 15 years and has worked in large Waikato firms specialising in property both commercial and residential, wills, enduring powers of attorney, trusts and commercial matters. Amongst other advice, Sian enjoys being able to help first home buyers, families managing the care of their elders as well as assisting business owners with their terms of trade to reduce debtors and asset planning. Sian also has a special interest in advising in Māori land matters including occupation licences, leasing, utilising KiwiSaver and succession matters.
Making memories with her family and spending as much time as possible in the outdoors is important to Sian. Sian loves being on the water with her husband who is a keen fisherman, camping with her family (preferably with no reception), being able to coach her daughter’s netball team and hang out at her son’s touch and soccer games.
Sian became a Base Lawyer to be able to work flexibly around her family but also to provide a better service to her clients that works around them. She ensures she applies integrity and authenticity in her advice and has a genuine interest in caring for her clients.
