Nicholas Eketone-TeKanawa

BA, LLB

Nicholas (Nic), not afraid of challenges, ventured to Japan in his early 20s and whilst there (10 years) he managed to start a small business, get married and start his Japanese tattoo collection. Resisting the urge to live permanently and retire in the land of the rising sun, he decided to return to New Zealand and become a lawyer. Initially practising law in Dunedin, Nic is now located on the North Shore in Auckland (for many years).

Nic looks after clients who need business and property legal services. In addition, he can help you with employment, matrimonial property, and immigration issues. With a finely tuned understanding of the Japanese language and culture, Nic also specialises in providing Japanese businesses and entrepreneurs with legal advice and support.

Nic is versatile and endlessly accommodating. But be warned, shorts and t-shirts are his preferred business attire. Otherwise, he enjoyes torturing himself in the gym and watching his family compete and win medals at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Olympic freestyle wrestling tournaments (regional and national level).
