FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do you set your fees?
Our preference is to work with fixed fees. However, in some circumstances this will not be possible (due to the nature of the work or situation) and our fee will be determined by an hourly rate. In such cases, we will provide you with an estimate of costs prior to commencing work and keep you informed throughout the process of where costs are at. Whether it’s a fixed price agreement or an hourly rate, our fees will always be fair and reasonable, and you’ll always know how much you’ll be charged. Our fees policy is based around transparency, with no surprises.
Can you come to us for meetings?
Certainly. Our approach is to be flexible and available. We can meet clients at a place and time that suits them.
Can you see us after hours or in the weekend?
Certainly. Our approach is to be flexible and available. We can meet clients at a place and time that suits them.
What if something is outside your areas of law?
Base Law specialises in certain areas of law only. However, we have a close network of lawyers who specialise in various other areas of law and, in all instances when anyone approaches us (whether an existing or a new client), we will invariably refer them to a Lawyer or Lawyers that will be able to assist them.
Do you do Legal Aid?
Base Law does not undertake legal aid work. However, in all instances when anyone approaches us in need of Legal Aid, we will invariably refer them to a Lawyer or Lawyers that we are aware of that undertake Legal Aid work or refer them to the Law Society for a list of such practitioners.
